Left Toolbar > 3D Nodes > To Normal
The To Normal node converts the input image to an image in normal color mode.
The checker image in RGB color mode has been converted into a Normal color mode image using height_rgb and a 7x7 filter.
On the left toolbar choose 3D Nodes > To Normal. >
Drag the To Normal icon into the Node Graph.
Connect the output of an image node into the Img input in the To Normal node.
Adjust the attributes of the To Normal node to modify the output normal image.
Img An image, usually in a Color color mode (RGB, HSV, LAB, M).
Img An image in Normal color mode.
Sets the type of the source of the input image:
normal: Treats the input image as if the pixels rgb channel contain RGB normal information. For example, the output of a baked 3D model.
height: Treats the input image as if the pixels rgb channel contain height information.
Type of filter used to convert an image in height source type to Normal color mode.
Algorithm use to convert the image in height source type to Normal color mode.
Filters the left most pixels using information from the right side too.
Inverts the X component of the output normal.
Inverts the Y component of the output normal.
Inverts the Z component of the output normal.
Swaps the X and Z component of the output normal.
Multiplies the output angle by the given value, increasing or decreasing the strenght of the normal map.
Normal maps are baked in external 3D applications, and not all 3D applications bake on the same format for Normal images that PixaFlux uses. When loading a Normal map baked on other 3D applications you might need to set some.
Normals baked by xNormal don't need any modification.
For loading normal images baked in 3ds max you'll need to:
