Sprite It Troubleshooting

When developing a Sprite It program is very common to have errors that make the program fail during evaluation, or that make the program return a black image, or not the expected result.

There are many tools at your disposal to help you solve this problems.

Sprite It Executable

The Sprite It Executable is a command line application that runs a Sprite It program and prints to the command line all print statements.

PixaFlux Log

The PixaFlux log shows any warnings or errors found by the Sprite It node while evaluating the scripts. This includes errors thrown by Lua.

Errors window

The errors window in PixaFlux shows any errors found while evaluating the Node Graph.

Common Issues

• On scripts that don't use nodes the level and layer must be set in spriteContext:pushSprite. Be careful not to set level to 0, which is reserved for the background sprite.
